Homemade baked potatoes

Perfect baked potatoes

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 6 russet potatoes
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Clean potatoes using a vegetable brush.
  2. Place on a baking dish and cook in microwave for 5 minutes on full power.
  3. Turn over the other side and further cook for another 5 minutes until potatoes are soft and tender.
  4. Remove from microwave and cut into half lengthways.
  5. Season well with salt and pepper.
  6. Mash the potatoes a little and top with butter and 1 tablespoon of cheese.
  7. Return to microwave and cook for approximately 1 minute.
  8. Garnish with sour cream and remaining cheese.
  9. Serve hot.
