How to make excellent Melon Wine

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1 large cantaloupe melon
  • 6 fl oz sparkling wine
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons orange marmalade
  • 1/2 bunch finely chopped mint leaves

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Cut melon into half and remove the seeds.
  2. Remove the flesh and cut into bite size chunks.
  3. Place cubes in a bowl.
  4. Do not discard the melon shell.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together wine, orange marmalade and mint.
  6. Pour the mixture over the melon flesh and mix thoroughly.
  7. Place mixture in the reserved melon shell.
  8. Cover with cling film and chill in the refrigerator for at least 5 hours before serving.
  9. Serve cold.
