Homemade savory Sausage stromboli pizza (Sausage Bread)

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage, cut into slices
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 green pepper, cut into slices
  • 1 onion, cut into slices
  • some Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Position pizza dough on a surface board sprinkled with flour. Set aside to rest.
  2. Saute Italian sausage slices with butter in a skillet over medium heat for about 8 minutes.
  3. Pour in water and add in pepper and onion slices. Cover and bring to boil until vegetables are tender.
  4. Drain liquid from skillet.
  5. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and mix well. Set aside.
  6. Preheat over to 375 degree F and lightly grease baking sheet.
  7. Roll out pizza dough into a rectangle shape.
  8. Top with sausage mixture, Mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Roll the dough like a Swissroll cake. Pinch seam to seal the sides.
  10. Bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove from oven and rest on a tea towel for 15 minutes.
  12. Cut into slices and serve warm.
