DIY simple Seared squids with red chili salsa

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons groundnut oil
  • 1 lb sliced shallots
  • 1 diced red chili
  • 1 finely chopped garlic clove
  • 2 lb squid rings
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Add oil in a frying pan and sweat shallots over low heat until the shallots are soft.
  2. Increase the heat to medium, then saute shallots until crispy.
  3. Put in chili and garlic.
  4. Saute for about 1/2 minute.
  5. In a separate bowl, season squid rings with salt and pepper.
  6. Add the squid to the frying pan and saute for approximately 45 seconds until squids curl.
  7. Serve hot.
