Ingredients (nutrition)
- 1 smoked mackerel fillet
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon dried fennel
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
- 2 oz cottage cheese
- 2 fl oz sour cream
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- freshly grated nutmeg
Preparation (instructions)
- Process mackerel in a handheld electronic blender or food processor to form a smooth paste.
- Add lemon juice, fennel, dill, cottage cheese and sour cream.
- Continue to blend until the ingredients mix well.
- Transfer mixture into a bowl.
- Season well with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
- Transfer the mixture to a serving dish and cover with foil.
- Chill at least 24 hours in a refrigerator.
- Prior serving, take out from the refrigerator and set aside until it reaches room temperature.
