Baked beef short ribs recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1 cup tomato ketchup
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 lb beef short ribs

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Preheat oven temperature to 400 degree F.
  2. In a saucepan, mix well tomato ketchup, onion, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, 1/4 teaspoon salt, sugar, vinegar and 1/4 cup water and simmer for 12 minutes.
  3. Rub remaining salt on ribs and place in a baking pan.
  4. Brush ribs with 1/2 of the prepared sauce.
  5. Place the ribs in preheated oven and bake for 38 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, brush with remaining sauce and add remaining water.
  7. Return to oven and bake for a further 55 minutes.
  8. Serve hot.
