BBQ beef sandwiches recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1 onion, cut into wedges
  • 3 peeled cloves garlic
  • 1 boneless beef chuck shoulder pot roast, cut into 5 pieces
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 18 oz hickory flavored barbecue sauce
  • 10 onion rolls

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Place onion and garlic on a slow cooker.
  2. Place beef on top.
  3. Add water, salt and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours.
  5. Remove beef and allow to cool.
  6. Reserve cooking liquid.
  7. Shred beef with forks.
  8. Place shredded beef in a microwave safe dish.
  9. Add barbecue sauce and 1/2 cup cooking liquid.
  10. Cover and cook on high for 8 minutes.
  11. Serve in onion rolls.
