Beef lasagna recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 4 cups prepared spaghetti sauce
  • 2 cups fresh baby arugula
  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach
  • 15 oz fat free ricotta cheese
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons chopped basil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped oregano
  • 9 uncooked oven ready lasagna noodles
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degree F.
  2. Add beef and garlic in a non stick skillet under medium heat.
  3. Brown beef for 10 minutes.
  4. Drain off drippings and season beef with salt and pepper.
  5. Stir in pasta sauce and set aside.
  6. Mix ricotta cheese, egg whites, basil, oregano, salt and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
  7. In a bowl, add arugula and spinach. Set aside.
  8. In a baking dish, scoop some meat sauce and place at the bottom.
  9. Top with some noodles, ricotta mixture, spinach mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
  10. Repeat layers until completed.
  11. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in oven for 55 minutes until noodles are tender and sauce is bubbly.
  12. Serve hot.
