Ingredients (nutrition)
- 2 lb leg of lamb
- 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
- 1 1/2 onion, cut into wedges
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- 1 pt lamb stock
- 4 tablespoons red wine
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 lb potatoes, cut into cubes
- 1 lb carrots, cut into cubes
- 4 leeks, cut into cubes
- 2 turnips, cut into cubes
Preparation (instructions)
- Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
- Place lamb in a flameproof casserole dish.
- Add mixed herbs, onion, garlic, stock and wine.
- Season well with salt and pepper.
- Bring to the boil, cover and transfer to the oven.
- Cook for approximately 1 1/2 hours.
- Add remaining ingredients cook in the oven for another 50 minutes until meat come off from the bone and vegetables are soft and tender.
- Discard bones and serve meat and vegetables.
