Ingredients (nutrition)
- 4 1/2 fl oz light soy sauce
- 4 crushed garlic cloves
- 3 teaspoons five spice powder
- 1 grated root ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon dried red chili flakes
- 4 fl oz sunflower oil
- 2 1/2 lb pork spare ribs, cut into bite size chunks
- 3 tablespoons honey
Preparation (instructions)
- Combine soy sauce, garlic, five spice powder, ginger, red chili flakes, 3 tablespoons sunflower oil and pork in a large mixing bowl.
- Cover with cling film and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 full day.
- Drain pork and set aside.
- Transfer marinade to a saucepan and set aside.
- Pour remaining sunflower oil in a frying pan and heat up under medium heat.
- Add pork ribs in a frying pan and transfer to saucepan with the marinade once browned.
- Once completed, boil the content of the saucepan.
- Cover and simmer gently for 45 minutes until the meat is tender.
- Remove lid and add honey.
- Increase heat until sauce thickens.
- Serve with rice.
