Grilled steak & pasta recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 minced cloves garlic
  • 3 cups grape tomatoes, cut into halves
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced basil
  • 2 cups uncooked gemelli pasta
  • 1 teaspoon coarse grind black pepper
  • 1 boneless beef top sirloin steak, cut into 3/4 inch thick
  • 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Heat up oil under medium heat in a large saucepan.
  2. Add onion and garlic.
  3. Cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add tomatoes, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper.
  5. Cook until tomatoes are soft and tender.
  6. Add basil and give a quick stir.
  7. Remove from heat and set aside.
  8. Cook pasta according to package instructions
  9. Stir in tomato mixture and remaining salt and pepper.
  10. Keep in a warm place and set aside.
  11. Press coarse grind pepper onto beef steak and place on grill.
  12. Grill for 15 minutes, uncovered.
  13. Carve steak into thin slices.
  14. Sprinkle goat cheese over pasta and serve with grilled steak.
