Ingredients (nutrition)
- 2 lb liver, cut into cubes
- 3/4 pt milk
- 2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 8 oz bacon, cut into cubes
- 2 1/2 chopped onions
- flour for dredging
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons cornflour
- 3 tablespoons water
- pinch of dried thyme
- pinch of dried basil
Preparation (instructions)
- Soak liver in milk and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
- Heat oil in a frying pan.
- Fry bacon and onions and set aside.
- Mix together flour, salt and pepper in a bowl.
- Take liver out from the refrigerator and coat in flour mixture.
- Add liver to frying pan and cook until slightly pink at the centre and set aside.
- Mix cornflour with water and pour in a separate saucepan without heat.
- Add thyme and basil.
- Add liver, bacon and onions to the saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes under low heat.
- Serve hot.
