Marinated steak sandwich recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon style mustard
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 beef flank steak
  • 1 loaf whole wheat French bread
  • 1 cup baby salad greens
  • tomato sauce to taste
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Add vinegar, mustard and garlic in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Add beef in marinade and cover with cling film.
  3. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
  4. Cut bread into 6 sections and split each piece to form sandwich rolls.
  5. Remove steak from refrigerator and place steak on grill.
  6. Grill for 20 minutes, uncovered.
  7. Meanwhile, lightly toast bread on grill.
  8. Carve steak into thin slices.
  9. Season well with salt and pepper.
  10. Scoop beef over bottom of each roll.
  11. Top beef with salad green and tomato sauce.
  12. Close sandwiches and serve immediately.
