Meatloaf with relish recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

For Meatloaf

  • 1 1/2 oz butter
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 chopped large onion
  • 1 lb minced beef
  • 2 oz soaked bulgur wheat
  • 1 oz Parmesan cheese
  • 1 sliced celery stick
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons instant oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon chopped thyme leaves
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

For Relish

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons horseradish sauce
  • 5 fl oz sour cream

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Grease bottom of loaf tin.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan.
  4. Saute garlic, onion and minced beef until the meat is brown.
  5. Transfer beef mixture to a large bowl and add remaining ingredients.
  6. Mix well transfer into greased loaf tin. Cover with foil.
  7. Place loaf tin in a roasting tin and add 1 inch of water.
  8. Gently place in oven and cook for 1 1/2 hours.
  9. To make relish, combine horseradish sauce and sour cream in a bowl.
  10. Take out meatloaf and garnish with chopped thyme leaves.
  11. Serve with relish.
