Ingredients (nutrition)
For Steak
- 1 tablespoon kosher
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 4 beef T-bone steaks, cut into 3/4 inch thick
For Chipotle Mashed Potatoes
- 3 lb potatoes, peeled, cut into wedges
- 1 tablespoon kosher
- 3/4 cup low fat milk
- 3 1/2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 minced chipotle pepper in adobo sauce
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Preparation (instructions)
- To prepare the steaks, combine all the Ingredients 1 seasoning and press onto beef steaks uniformly.
- Cover and chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- To make mashed potatoes, place potatoes and salt in a large saucepan filled with water.
- Bring to boil and cook until potatoes are tender.
- Drain water and add in milk, melted butter and chipotle pepper.
- Mash potatoes with electric mixer or potato masher until smooth and creamy.
- Season well with salt and pepper.
- Set aside in a warm place.
- Take out steaks from refrigerator and place on grill.
- Grill for 12 minutes, uncovered.
- Serve hot with prepared mashed potatoes.
