Ingredients (nutrition)
For Fried Chicken
- 9 oz flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
- 2 chickens, cut into 8 pieces each
- 14 oz lard or more for deep frying
For Gravy
- 1 oz melted butter
- 1 tablespoon plain flour
- 6 fl oz chicken stock
- 2 fl oz single cream
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Preparation (instructions)
- Mix well flour, salt, pepper, mustard powder and pepper in a large sealing bag.
- Add chicken pieces in it, seal and shake vigorously.
- Heat lard in a frying pan.
- When fat is hot, take out the chicken from the bag and deep fry one by one under low medium heat.
- Cook until chicken is golden brown.
- To make the gravy, melt butter in a saucepan.
- Add flour and continue to stir.
- Add stock and cream until sauce thickens.
- Season well with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot fried chicken with sauce.
