Ingredients (nutrition)
- 3 lb chicken, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon crushed ginger root
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- vegetable oil for greasing
Preparation (instructions)
- Prick and slash chicken to allow penetration of marinade.
- Place chicken in a non metallic shallow dish. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix well yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, ginger, coriander, cayenne pepper, cloves, cardamom, salt and pepper.
- Pour marinade over chicken.
- Cover with cling film and chill for 24 hours.
- Remove chicken and place on greased grill rack.
- Grill for 45-50 minutes under medium heat.
- Serve with cucumber slices and naan bread or pita bread.
