Lemon cream sherbet recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons plain gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Combine well sugar, corn syrup and lemon juice in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. Scald milk and sour cream and add in salt. Set aside.
  3. Dissolve gelatin in cold water and add in milk mixture.
  4. Allow to cool and stir in sugar mixture.
  5. Transfer into a freezer container and freeze for 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Remove from freezer, beat with an electric hand held mixer and return to freezer for 3 hours before serving.
