Strawberry milk sherbet recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1 pt mashed strawberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons plain gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Combine strawberries, sugar and salt in a bowl. Set aside for 1 1/2 hours.
  2. In a bowl, soak gelatin in water.
  3. Scald milk and stir in gelatin mixture. Set aside to cool.
  4. Press strawberries to pass through coarse sieve into milk mixture.
  5. Transfer into freezer container and freeze for 2 hours.
  6. Beat with hand held mixer until smooth and return to freezer for another 2-3 hours before serving.
