Tiramisu recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 18 fl oz espresso coffee
  • 2 fl oz Marsala wine
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 oz caster sugar
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 8 fl oz double cream
  • 18 savoiardi (sponge finger biscuits)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dark cocoa powder

Preparation (instructions)

  1. In a bowl, mix well coffee and wine. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy with an electric hand held mixer.
  3. Add cheese and mix well.
  4. Whisk cream until form soft peaks and fold into cheese mixture.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites until form soft peaks and fold into cheese mixture.
  6. Dip finger cookies into coffee-wine mixture, spread with mascarpone cheese-cream mixture and dust with cocoa powder.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours prior serving.
