Ingredients (nutrition)
- 2 oz butter
- 6 slices white bread
- 1 oz currants
- 1 oz sultanas
- 3 eggs
- 18 fl oz milk
- 2 oz light muscovado sugar
- pinch of mixed spice
- single cream for drizzling
Preparation (instructions)
- Lightly grease ovenproof dish with some melted butter.
- Spread remaining butter on bread.
- Cut bread diagonally and arrange in the ovenproof dish.
- Scatter currants and sultanas on top of the bread. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar and mixed spice.
- Pour mixture over bread and allow to soak for 35 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
- Bake pudding in preheated oven for 50 minutes.
- Serve with single cream.
