Ingredients (nutrition)
- melted butter for greasing
- 4 oz plain flour
- pinch of salt
- 2 oz lowfat spread
- some cold water
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 10 fl oz warmed skimmed milk
- grated nutmeg
Preparation (instructions)
- Preheat oven to 400 degree F.
- Lightly grease a flan tin with melted butter. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add flour and salt.
- Place low fat spread at fingertips and rub flour mixture until turns into crumbs.
- Add some water gradually until enough to knead a dough.
- Roll out and line onto flan tin.
- Prick base with a fork and fill with crumpled foil.
- Place on a baking tray and bake in preheated oven for 16 minutes. Remove foil after 11 minutes.
- Remove pastry shell from oven and set oven temperature to 375 degree F.
- In a mixing glass bowl, whisk eggs and sugar.
- Add in milk and give a quick whisk.
- Strain into baked pastry shell and top with grated nutmeg.
- Place in preheated oven and bake for 33 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
