Pear & blackberry crumble recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • melted butter for greasing
  • 1 lb pears, cut into chunks
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 8 oz caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spice
  • 1 lb blackberries
  • 8 oz plain flour
  • 4 oz chopped butter
  • 3 1/2 oz ground almonds

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degree F.
  2. Lightly grease a shallow ovenproof dish with some melted butter.
  3. In a glass bowl, toss pears with lemon juice.
  4. Add in half the amount of sugar, mixed spice and blackberries into the pear mixture.
  5. Transfer fruit mixture into the reserved ovenproof dish. Set aside.
  6. Add remaining sugar, flour, butter and almonds in a food processor or an electronic blender.
  7. Process until looks like breadcrumbs.
  8. Top almond mixture over fruit mixture and bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes.
  9. Serve hot.
