Ingredients (nutrition)
- melted butter for greasing
- 1 lb pears, cut into chunks
- juice of 1 lemon
- 8 oz caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice
- 1 lb blackberries
- 8 oz plain flour
- 4 oz chopped butter
- 3 1/2 oz ground almonds
Preparation (instructions)
- Preheat oven to 400 degree F.
- Lightly grease a shallow ovenproof dish with some melted butter.
- In a glass bowl, toss pears with lemon juice.
- Add in half the amount of sugar, mixed spice and blackberries into the pear mixture.
- Transfer fruit mixture into the reserved ovenproof dish. Set aside.
- Add remaining sugar, flour, butter and almonds in a food processor or an electronic blender.
- Process until looks like breadcrumbs.
- Top almond mixture over fruit mixture and bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes.
- Serve hot.
