Pears with strawberry sauce recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 4 peeled pears
  • 2 fl oz water
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons melted butter
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon orange juice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 9 oz strawberries
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornflour with 1 tablespoon water

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
  2. Arrange pears on sides of a 2 pt casserole dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk water, butter and orange juice.
  4. Pour mixture onto pears.
  5. Place in cinnamon sticks and bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  6. Transfer pears into individual serving dessert plate, while reserving the pear juices.
  7. Add pear juices into a saucepan together with strawberries, lemon juice, sugar and cornflour mixture.
  8. Stir continuously under low heat until it thickens.
  9. Remove from heat and spoon over reserved pears.
  10. Serve instantly.
