Ingredients (nutrition)
- 1 lb pitted plums, cut into halves
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon caster sugar
- 1 oz butter
- 4 slices white bread
- fine sugar for dusting
Preparation (instructions)
- Preheat oven to 375 degree F.
- In a saucepan, add plums and water.
- Simmer under low heat until tender and add sugar.
- Meanwhile, spread butter on bread and place 2 slices onto an ovenproof dish.
- Spread plum mixture on bread.
- Cut remaining bread slices into thin strips and arrange into a web pattern on top of the plums.
- Dust with sugar and bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes.
- Serve hot.
