Plum charlotte recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1 lb pitted plums, cut into halves
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 1 oz butter
  • 4 slices white bread
  • fine sugar for dusting

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degree F.
  2. In a saucepan, add plums and water.
  3. Simmer under low heat until tender and add sugar.
  4. Meanwhile, spread butter on bread and place 2 slices onto an ovenproof dish.
  5. Spread plum mixture on bread.
  6. Cut remaining bread slices into thin strips and arrange into a web pattern on top of the plums.
  7. Dust with sugar and bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes.
  8. Serve hot.
