Ingredients (nutrition)
- 2 oz dark chocolate, broken into pieces
- 18 fl oz chocolate milk
- 4 oz white breadcrumbs
- 4 oz caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 1/2 tablespoons black cherry jam
Preparation (instructions)
- Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
- In a saucepan, melt chocolate pieces and chocolate milk.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs, 1 oz sugar and chocolate mixture.
- Whisk in egg yolks with mixture and transfer into an ovenproof pie dish.
- Bake in preheated oven for 28 minutes.
- Meanwhile, whisk egg whites until form soft peaks and slowly whisk in remaining sugar until form meringue.
- Spread cherry jam on baked chocolate and add meringue on top.
- Return to oven and bake for a further 13 minutes.
- Serve hot.
