Make your own: Baked stuffed lobster recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 2 fl oz vegetable oil
  • 5 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 finely chopped large onion
  • 8 oz tomato puree
  • 5 fl oz red wine
  • 7 oz cooked canned clams with juice
  • 1 lb dried white breadcrumbs
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 4 lobsters, cut into halves with intestines removed

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degree F.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan.
  3. Sweat garlic and onion under medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Pour in tomato puree and cook for 3 1/2 minutes.
  5. Stir in wine, clams and its juice and cook for 5 1/4 minutes. Set aside.
  6. Combine together breadcrumbs, cheese, parsley oregano and garlic salt in a large glass bowl.
  7. Make a well in the centre and pour in reserved sauce.
  8. Stir and make into soft dough.
  9. Stuff mixture into the lobster cavity and place on a lightly greased baking tray.
  10. Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes.
  11. Serve hot with cold salad.
