Seafood spaghetti marinara recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

For Sauce

  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 sliced carrot
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 12 oz crushed plum tomatoes
  • 4 fl oz white wine
  • 3/4 teaspoon sugar

For Spaghetti

  • 2 fl oz white wine
  • 2 fl oz fish stock
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 15 cleaned black mussels, with beards removed
  • 10 oz spaghetti
  • 1 oz butter
  • 8 oz peeled and deveined raw prawns
  • 4 oz calamari rings
  • 4 oz skinless cod fillets, cut into bite size cubes
  • 6 oz clams

Preparation (instructions)

  1. To make marinara sauce, brown onion and carrot in oil under medium heat for 8-10 minutes.
  2. Add remaining sauce ingredients, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 35 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, add wine, stock, garlic and mussels.
  4. Cook under high heat for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Transfer opened mussels in a bowl, set aside and reserve liquid.
  6. Cook spaghetti per package instructions. Drain and set aside in a warm place.
  7. In a pan, add butter, prawns, calamari rings and fish pieces.
  8. Stir fry for 1 1/2-2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat, add reserved cooking liquid, mussels, marina sauce and clams.
  10. Cook for 2 minutes and add pasta.
  11. Serve immediately.
