Chili tomato dip recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 4 fl oz sunflower oil
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 13 oz chopped tomatoes
  • 2 seeded and finely chopped green chilies
  • 1 seeded and finely chopped fresh red chili
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan under low heat and sweat onions until lightly browned.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for 18 minutes with regular stirring.
  3. When the cooking liquid almost evaporates, remove from heat and allow to cool.
  4. Serve with pitta breads.
