Ingredients (nutrition)
- 4 lb boneless ham
- 1 sweet onion, sliced into rings
- 16 oz Coca-Cola
- 1/4 cup cloves
- 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 teaspoons mustard powder
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Preparation (instructions)
- Place ham in a dutch oven, scatter onion rings around pour cola over.
- Cover and bring to boil.
- Reduce heat, and gently simmer for 22 minutes.
- Turn ham to the other side and cook for a further 18 minutes.
- Remove from pot and allow ham to cool for 16 minutes.
- Reserve 1/4 cup of the cooking liquid.
- Preheat oven to 500 degree F.
- Line non stick foil on a baking pan.
- Transfer ham in baking pan and score ham in diamond pattern and poke holes in the center of each diamond and insert a clove on each hole.
- To prepare the glaze, mix well reserved cooking liquid and remaining ingredients.
- Brush over the ham and bake for about 8-10 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
