Ingredients (nutrition)
- 4 qt water
- 1 cup salt
- 1 teaspoon saltpeter
- 2 beef briskets
- 12 garlic cloves
- 3 tablespoons pickling spices
- 8 bay leaves
Preparation (instructions)
- Boil water in a pot and dissolve salt and saltpeter.
- Place beef in a crock and pour hot salt water over it.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Ensure beef is fully submerged and chill in refrigerator for 2 1/2 weeks.
- Drain and remove bay leaves before cooking.
