Ham & sweet potato casserole recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1 lb peeled and grated sweet potatoes
  • grated zest of 1 orange
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 lb cooked ham, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Spread 1/2 the amount of sweet potatoes at the bottom of a casserole dish, followed by 1/2 the amount of orange zest, 1/2 the amount of nutmeg and pepper.
  2. Layer ham on top, followed by mustard, remaining sweet potatoes, pepper, remaining nutmeg and milk.
  3. Cover lightly with aluminum foil and bake in oven at 375 degree F for 38 minutes.
  4. Remove foil, sprinkle sesame seeds and bake for a further 18 minutes.
  5. Serve hot.
