Molasses mashed sweet potatoes recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1/2 lb sweet potatoes, cut into chunks
  • 1/2 lb Idaho potatoes, cut into chunks
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/4 cup half and half,
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preparation (instructions)

  1. In a saucepan filled with salted cold water, add in 2 types of potatoes and bring to boil.
  2. Simmer until soft and tender, drain and return to saucepan.
  3. Steam for 4 minutes under low heat and mash up the potatoes.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  5. Serve warm.
