Pumpkin pie recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups canned pumpkin
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 5 oz evaporated milk
  • 4 lightly beaten eggs
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pastry pie crust shell
  • whipped cream for topping

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degree F.
  2. In a bowl, mix well brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt.
  3. Stir in pumpkin, whole milk, evaporated milk and eggs.
  4. Pour mixture into pie shell and bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  5. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degree F and bake for a further 45 minutes.
  6. Allow to cool and top with whipped cream prior serving.
