Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons celery seed
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 16 oz coleslaw mix
  • 1 cup diced sweet red pepper
  • 3 tablespoons chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup bacon bits

Cooking Instructions

  1. To make the dressing, mix oil, vinegar, sugar and celery seed in a saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat and stir continuously until sugar dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and add mustard.
  3. Whisking into the mixture and season well with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Allow dressing to cool. Set aside.
  5. Using a salad bowl, add coleslaw, red pepper, red onion and bacon bits.
  6. Drizzle salad with dressing and serve.
