Ingredients (nutrition)
- 2 oz butter
- 2 lb thinly sliced onions
- 1 1/2 pt vegetable stock
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions
- Fry the onions in the butter in a covered saucepan for 15 minutes until soft and starting to caramelize.
- Remove the lid, increase to high heat and fry for about 15 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
- Add the stock and bring to the boil.
- Reduce the heat, partly cover the saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Season well with salt and pepper and serve while still warm.
